Commentary and Notices

20th June 2018 at the Church Rooms Ravenglass at 7.30pm

We would like to hear from people who want to contribute to rethinking the worship on offer across the Benefice. At this point we are not looking to change what happens in our churches Sunday by Sunday. But we do feel that there are a range of possibilities that could be developed for worship during the week, at festival times and on fifth Sunday’s which we would like to explore. You don’t need any expertise or experience to come along, you don’t even need to be a regular church attender. All you need is an interest in worship or have ideas that you would like to offer, if that sound like you then join us on June 20th or drop us an email.

thinkworship might be a one-off meeting or the first of a series of conversations depending on demand, but there will be no pressure to commit to more than you want to contribute.

We live in an amazing place and sometimes we don’t make the time to appreciate just how great it is, or to spend time with people, or to wonder about life. It has been suggested that a family friendly evening walk, say 7-9pm once a fortnight, with a pause somewhere for reflection might hold some appeal over the summer.

The reflections will be broadly Christian but intentionally conversation starters, questions to consider rather than answers to adopt. Children would be welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. People should bring their own boots, waterproofs and drinking water.

For the first walk on the 5th June we will meet at Eskdale Green Station Car Park at 7.00pm make our way up to Blea Tarn, for some fabulous views.
