In a farm yard one mile off the A595
Waberthwaite Church is remarkable in location and in simplicity. Its history has been understated for many years, but recent research is starting to reveal its significance. - it has sat by the estuary of the River Esk for over a thousand years. It is a simple barn shaped building with box pews and a graveyard that is at its best in Spring!

Waberthwaite Garden Party
Thank you to all who supported the Garden Open Day over the Bank Holiday Weekend - a special mention to three intrepid gardeners who turned up in torrential rain on Monday. We raised £807 which is a wonderful amount. It will go towards the various surveys and professional advice we are needing at the moment.
To catch up with our progress look St Johns Heritage Project up on Facebook or St John's Church on www.achurchnearyou.com. We have started to upload videos explaining what is happening. A consequence of all this is that my technical skills are improving rapidly. Catherine
